Essential Information RACE: Human AGE: 17 GENDER: Female Occupation: Student (2nd Year)
Appearance DESCRIPTION: Alexa is the short haired petite girl that no one seems to notice until she’s in your face. Standing at a menacing 5’2” backed by some 103lb of pure dainty muscle and fat… she’s not particularly intimidating. She has a lighter complexion than most, and her black hair accentuates this fact. Like a pixie cut gone rebellious, her bangs and the back of her hair are just off her head, but down the middle of her scalp is a swooped series of forward spikes that look like a bloated Mohawk. Dainty though she may be, part of that appearance is simply because she has no less than three layers of clothing on at any point in time. At the bottom, she has a black bodysuit that just barely peaks out where she isn’t otherwise covered. Above this, she has a cardigan-vest hybrid of a deep wine color layered on top of a deep green-cyan skirt. All this is Held together at the waist by a dark forest green sash of fabric. Moving to her extremities, she wears a pair of boots echoing the reds and greens of her torso with their own darker shades of the same. At the base of her elbows, she keeps a pair of light violet metallic rings just before her seafoam elbow length gloves. A fine fringe matches the bottom of her skirt with the cuffs of her gloves to tie everything together. If one gets the chance to look at her with most of this gone, they would notice a pattern of dark blue and orange diamonds on the backs of her hands, as well as the tops of her feet. Though not immediately apparent, when her semblance activates the Gravity dust etched into her body, it would also be good to note that there are a series of glowing violet circuit like fractals that cover most of her observable skin.
Personality Persona: From her upbringing, Alexa feels a bit entitled and wants to show herself as being deserving of those entitlements. Having never really had to fight before coming to the school, she’s had a number of harsh lessons laid on her that she did not get in Abditus. Though by no means “innocent” she does not understand some of the simple hardships of the world and is not the best at consoling people as a result. Pouring most of her time into training, she comes across as crass and a little too battle obsessed. Though her social skills to the “standard” world are lacking, she does still enjoy some of the more common hobbies and activities. She hates fish, but loves being out on boats and really, anything to do with the water – even if it means getting her hair and clothes wet. Unsurprisingly, coming from a family of tailors for high society, she has a particular knack for that sort of thing and has the resources to make a number of Dust infused garments. With this and her position as a Huntress though come the fears of her being insufficient or failing those around her. Even if the company isn’t in her name, her name is in the company and looking bad outside will look bad for them in turn.
History Story: The Sables. If you don’t know the name, you’ve never bought any dust infused clothing from the mainstream markets. A couple generations back, the family of tailors brokered a deal with the Dust magnates at the time “If you sell thread exclusively to us, we’ll help protect your operations and give you a cut of our profits.” It worked great for both families, and one of those steel buildings in downtown Abditus houses the Sable family. If you’ve walked downtown, you’ve probably seen the logo in the very least: A black horse ringed with silver. Well, Alexa was the third child to the brother of the heir to the company, so there was no way she would ever get a cut in the business. While she attended balls and such for the dozen or so families of that status, she started her basic schooling to be a young lady. In Abditus, part of that involved learning how to fight. She couldn’t make a hit or take one for that matter. Every now and then some useless soul had to be born, and it was high time the Sables got that bit of karma dealt to them. After about ten years of this, Alexa ‘ran away from home.’ Really, she just went the ten or so miles to Port Anguilla and got into some shady deals over there. Wanting to be worth something to someone, she worked on the wharfs for a while, making decent pay as a dock hand. She never kept much, using what she could to slowly but surely cover most of her body in a pattern of tattoos that came to her in a dream. Two years of work passed and she was recovering from the last batch of markings. It was about this time that someone from the family was in town, wanting to test out a new fabric that would always have a wind in the sails. Alexa got grabbed by the ear and dragged home before that fabric could be tested. An embarrassment to the family, it wasn’t long before she was chastised and sent back to school under careful supervision. However, unlike last time, she could fight. Not in a refined fashion but the violet pigment defiling her skin did have its uses. Seeing something in the girl that likely involved turning more profit, her uncle – the then head of the company – asked if she would like to go to the Academy for more formal training. Feeling it would give her the chance to prove her worth, she gladly accepted the offer and has now spent the past two years at the Academy training herself for whatever her uncle wanted her to do.
Combat Information Aura: 180
Dust Inventory: Forgoing all forms of weaponry, Alexa works exclusively with Dust. In the various tattoos about her body, she has the following: * 2 charges of Ice and 1 charge of Glass on each hand and foot. * 1 charge of Lightning on each of her middle and index fingers. * 20 charges of Gravity dust in highly dilute patterns covering her arms, legs, and torso that appear as slightly dark lines under direct sunlight. In addition to her tattoos, she carries around the following in her belt: * 2 vials of fire dust powder (10 charges each) * 1 vial steam dust powder (10 charges) * 1 vial lightning dust powder (10 charges) * 3 ampoules each of Wind, Earth, and Water dust powder (2 charges each ampoule) * 1 crystal of ice dust (20 charges) One will also find that the inside of her gloves are lined with a blend of fire and ice dust fabric to keep her hands a stable temperature. Each glove is lined with 2 charges of the respective dust type.
Aura Description: Alexa’s aura is pale, ethereal silver. Small wisps occasionally sluff off of her form, but for the most part her aura is well concealed under the layers of clothing she wears. Passive Defense: 1% (2) Dust Affinity: +11% (20)
Semblance Cost: 10% (18) Description: Conduit - Upon activation, Alexa’s Aura flashes briefly before sinking once again into her skin. A subtle visual cue, the flash of aura is the only indicator her Semblance has been activated. For the next minute after activation, Alexa can activate any five charges of Dust without expending any aura or dust charges to do so. Once she selects which dust charges to use with this ability, Alexa must continue using them until either they are dissipated or her semblance deactivates. She cannot change from using a glass charge for free to using an ice one for free. The effect on the activated dust is very apparent. Where an effect may have lingered for a couple seconds, the whole of the effect persists until her Semblance fades. Swords and walls may still be shattered, but normal transient effects: spheres of flame, clouds of steam, and bursts of Gravitational dust will not dissipate for this duration. In practice, Alexa sees the following effects with each dust type: Wind, Fire, Lightning and Steam: Effects persist unless countered in some fashion or dispelled in an equally opposing force. As an example, fire may be doused by water, and both wind and steam can be blown away. Water: Effect will persist until countered as above or attacked by a force capable of destroying the ‘durability’ of the water. Earth, Ice, Glass: Her second most used elements both will persist until shattered. Though less durable, glass can reform an infinite number of times with her semblance active, though each instance of this occurring consumes 1% of her aura after the first time. Gravity: Alexa’s most used form of dust, the effect of Gravity dust on her via her tattoos persists during the full length of her Semblance’s activation. Though she need not spend any Aura to use the dust charges, she can use her innate Dust Affinity to enhance the power of the dust she is using. Spending an amount upon activating the dust will give it that effect for the duration of her Semblance.
Expertise Style: The first thing one would note about Alexa is that she is… pathetically weak. She never was the most gifted with her fists, fell on her face during track and field, and just never really got any training on how to fight early in life. Being the rebellious girl she was and is, she got her tattoos to help her even the odds a bit. Completely reliant on her semblance and her markings, Alexa explodes into combat in a front-loaded blitzkrieg fashion. If she can’t kill it in the first two to three minutes of hacking at it, she’s out of luck. She most commonly employs her dust to produce claws for her hands and feet, resembling an icy or fiery creature of Grimm at a passing glance. Depending on the type of dust she is using with her semblance, she might charge headlong into battle, completely disregarding any attacks that may fall upon her. She more than makes up for her inability to dent the sand in this form and anything that cannot withstand her overwhelming, frenzied attacks would better be served getting out of her way and waiting for her dust to wear off before mounting a counteroffensive. |
